Over the long weekend, I went on a 14-mile backpacking trip. When you go that far out, carrying in all your supplies, you tend to end up in relative solitude. I do this with my husband, but — as I emphasized to him on this trip — one of my favorite qualities about our relationship is our high tolerance for long, comfortable silence. Let me away to my mind palace. That is where I want to be.
